Metadata and Electronic Resources Management Librarian, Ferris State University
Dejah Rubel is the Metadata and Electronic Resources Management Librarian at Ferris State University. She earned her Master of Science in Information at the Univeristy of Michigan and is looking forward to completing her Master of Science in Information Security and Intelligence at Ferris State University very soon. Formerly trained as an archivist and preservation professional, her journey to an eresources position has been a circuitous one through a wide variety of libraries and collections including the Janice B. Longone Culinary Archive, ITT Technical Institute, Eastern Michigan University Archive, University of Michigan College of Engineering Women In Science and Engineering, and Owens State Community College. Her scholarly work includes peer-reviewed articles on the legal issues surrounding the online use of oral history recordings and on using photographic previews to enhance realia collections for library patrons and staff. During the past 3 years, she has presented at IUG, ALCTS Exchange, and Amigos Library Services’ Innovating with Metadata Conference. Finally, she is incredibly thankful to LITA and NASIG for supporting her with scholarships to attend their respective conferences last year.
