You’ve patched your servers and desktops, you’ve encrypted your network traffic, you’ve implemented firewalls, you are confident you are doing what you can to keep your library digitally secure. What about your patrons? How much do they know about cybersecurity? Libraries can take the lead to insure that their patrons are in the know and won’t fall for those scams and social engineering attempts. This session starts with a presentation of findings from a report on public awareness about cybersecurity. The presenter will then discuss different ideas and tips that libraries can utilize to educate patrons and increase their awareness on cybersecurity.
