How Hyperlinked Library Design Connects Us with Transgender Populations

Hyperlinked library design can radically shift library interactions with transgender populations. For librarians who want to become knowledgeable allies, this means employing a multimodal approach that combines collaboration across social media, access to targeted information services, library systems that adapt to variant digital and physical identities, and an open exchange of ideas between librarians and allied stakeholders. My presentation details why libraries have a responsibility to provide services for transgender populations, why those services work best online, and how I oversaw the integration of hyperlinked library services for transgender people at an integrated library in a major urban center.
