This presentation will describe a university’s rapid prototyping process for the initial design of a library app. In addition, insights from user testing on what students want and expect from a library app will be discussed. Presenters will highlight a prototype library app that incorporates wayfinding technology and offers task-based options for conducting research. Presenters will share methods for gaining student feedback throughout the design process, the tools used to create the app and the content included in the app. Finally, presenters will share broad themes for what students want from a library app and their insights into marketing a mobile library experience.
