Free Doesn’t Mean Inferior: Leveraging the Tools We Have to Create a Robust Data Reporting Model

From phone call data and e-book usage to library survey data and collection mapping, having a precise plan for collecting and analyzing library data is critical to library success. The robust and diverse reporting measures and technologies we have implemented allow library administration and departments to make analytics and metrics-based decisions using software that is freely available for organizations to use (e.g. Power BI). We have designed report templates for many data points in order to achieve an internal standard that allows for decision-making and streamlined workflows with the ultimate aim of being able to share such templates with other libraries and vendors.
