Diversity in Tech: A Classism Issue

Diversity usually means gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, however class is often overlooked: the technology industry is lacking the life experience and perspectives of the economically disadvantaged. The library fills a critical role in closing this class gap because it is the gateway for the underprivileged to technology and the rapidly growing technology industry. This workshop will present the tactics and technical programs libraries can implement to truly be the catalysts for socio-economic advancement. You’ll walk away with actionable tactics you can implement immediately to start your patrons on the path to a technology career.
